Five Facts about the Lifestyle of Indebtedness By Dr. Paul Enenche

The rich ruleth over the poor and the borrower is the servant of the lender - Proverbs 22:1

The scripture above tells us that the borrower is a servant of the lender. It follows, therefore, that borrowing leads to financial slavery. Avoiding indebtedness is a secret of the overflow.

Five Facts and corrective measures to the lifestyle of indebtedness are:

1. Borrowing establishes a person's life in servant-hood as a status.
The borrower is the servant of the lender. So, every time you are enjoying borrowing, you have confirmed yourself as a lifetime servant. To borrow is to say, "I do not want to rise beyond where I am. I want to continue to be a borrower and a beggar."
2. Borrowing is an anti-covenant operation that nullifies the blessing of God
You know, there are things you do that kill the blessings of God in your life.

Because the Eternal your God will bless you as He promised, you will lend to many nations, but you won’t borrow; you will rule over many nations, but they won’t rule over you. Deut. 15:6

Every time you go borrowing, you say, "Lord, I take myself out of the blessings."

He will open up the reservoirs of water in the sky and make the rainy seasons come each year, so that everything you do will be blessed. Your produce will be so abundant that you’ll lend to many nations, but you won’t have to borrow from any. - Deut 28:12

Beloved, you must hate borrowing like you hate sin. Hate it. Look away from any money that is not yours. Look away from it!

3. Borrowing empties tomorrow into today
(Borrowing Causes you to Kill the money that has not yet arrived. Before your salary arrives, it has been spent.) Would God bless such a person -  a person that is totally disorganized? God will look at such a person and say, " Leave this one; he is a prodigal child." we cannot trust this prodigality.  so the crime in borrowing is that it empties tomorrow. it kills the that has not yet arrived. As a result, God will not cause the money to arrive.

4. Borrowing is a proof of bad management and God never blesses bad managers.
"Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof..." God expects that we start with the little we have and manage and grow it. And if you look at those who borrowed in the scriptures, something wrong was always associated with their borrowing:

I. The axe head that was borrowed fell into river
II. The virgins that had no oil and went to borrow, ended in disaster.

5. Borrowing is looking away from God to alternative Sources.
God says to us, " I am your El-Shaddai, your only source; trust me to meet your needs. Manage what you have now and I will multiply it for you. Trust me to meet your need." But many do not trust God. they try to look for someone who will help them.

Borrowing is a trick from Satan to enslave you!

Talk to God.
Do you really want to break out of indebtedness?
Talk to God Today:

Lord, I pray that you forgive me for getting involved in borrowing. Forgive my ignorance today and let the Blood of Jesus cleanse me from this disobedience and save me from my mistakes, i n Jesus Name.

Father, I decide today never to be a slave to anyone by reason of borrowing. I step out of the servant-hood status by a conscious decision to stop borrowing today. And nothing shall take me back to it in Jesus Name.

From today, Lord, I declare that You are my sufficiency. I shall look up to you in plenty and in want. I shall no longer look unto man for my supplies. Help me to depend completely on You in the Name of Jesus.
