Why I Must have a Heart of Compassion?

“And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and He healed their sick.” —Matthew 14:14.

The Heart of Compassion is the heart for Humanity. That was the strength of the Master; Love for Humanity. Why is it so?

It is often recorded in Scripture that Jesus was moved by compassion; and we are told in the verse above that after the disciples of John had come to Him and told Him that their master had been beheaded, that he had been put to a cruel death, He went out into a desert place, and the multitude followed Him, and that when He saw the multitude He had “compassion” on them, and healed their sick. If He were here with you in flesh and person, speaking to, physically, His heart would be moved as He looked down into your faces, because He could also look into your hearts, and could read the burdens and troubles and sorrows you have to bear. They are hidden from my eye, but He knows all about them, and so when the multitude gathered round about Him, He knew how many weary, broken, and aching hearts they were. But He is here today, although we cannot see Him with the bodily eye, and there is not a sorrow, or trouble, or affliction which any of you are enduring but He knows all about it; and He is the same today as He was when here upon earth—the same Jesus, the same Man of compassion. When He saw that multitude He had compassion on them.

Why should we replicate that Nature in today’s World?

1) A heart of Compassion triggers the release of the divine Nature: The more you work in Love, the more like God you become, for God is love. Remember, We’re not waging war against enemies of flesh and blood alone. No, this fight is against tyrants, against authorities, against supernatural powers and demon princes that slither in the darkness of this world, and against wicked spiritual armies that lurk about in heavenly places. – Eph. 6:12

2) Love invites the Presence of God. Acts 10:38 "You know God identified Jesus as the uniquely chosen One by pouring out the Holy Spirit on Him, by empowering Him. You know Jesus went through the land doing good for all and healing all who were suffering under the oppression of the evil one, for God was with Him."

3) Faith is energized by Love. Gal. 5:6 "Here’s the thing: in Jesus the Anointed whether you are circumcised or not makes no difference. What makes a difference is faith energized by love." When Faith is energized, it believes all things, including the promises of God for divine Health, Protection, Provision and Eternal Rest in Heaven. 1 Cor. 13:7 “Love puts up with anything and everything that comes along; it trusts, hopes, and endures no matter what.”
